Genes can be 'changed' by foods

The food you eat may change your genes for life

IT SOUNDS like science fiction: simply swallowing a pill, or eating a specific food supplement, could permanently change your behaviour for the better, or reverse diseases such as schizophrenia, Huntington’s or cancer. Yet such treatments are looking increasingly plausible….

The Role of Infections in Mental Disorders

For ages, it’s been common knowledge that syphylis, in its later stage, causes insanity. It’s never made sense to me, that when the specific bacteria, T. Pallidum, was discovered to be the culprit, why there continued to be a line drawn between the science of medicine and the pseudo-science of psychology. Finally, it seems, there’s good research pointing toward organic, physical causes of mental or psychotic disorders, hopefully, returning the realm of the mind back to where it belongs – in the realm of whole-body science. Attached is yet another article, “The Role of Infections in Mental Disorders” which I hope would challenge the traditional mainstream psychology crowd to become more familiar what are begining to be very well-defined mechanisms (herpes, parasites, etc.) that have a dramatic impact on mental “health” – think PHYSICAL cause before decapitating the mind from the physical body.

Index - Constantly Updating

To more easily recall and find articles I’m publishing in the section labeled “Viral Research”, I’ll continually update this index with article url’s as well as try to provide a brief description of article and research content.

Information on herpes/viral links to Autism, ADD, Schizophrenia bi-polar, depression, manic-depression, and Alzheimer’s, as well as Lyme’s, Parkinsons’, etc., will be included in the Viral Research index. I believe RAD (Reactive Attachment Disorder) and OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) and all other psychitric disorders ad nauseum will eventually end up here. I find hope that some in the mainstream medical community are looking at virual, parasitic, fungal, bacteria causes of “psychiatric disorders”. It’s high time we explored this avenue rather than wasting more time on the “mercury is at fault” thinking.

Fatty Acids & Autism

While this isn’t viral in nature, nutritional information is invaluable to any condition. I posted this article back in June but I think it is worth repeating. How can we expect brains to properly function, psychiatric disorders or not, if we’re eating foods that contain the correct ratio of Essential Fatty Acids? I’m going to sound like a broken record, but we should be consuming Omega6:Omega 3 in no more than a 4:1 ratio. When we eat corn/soy fed beef, pork, chicken and vegetable oils like corn and soy, we’re consuming unhealthy EFA ratios of 60:1. Any wonder that this may be in fact foundational to many so-called “psychiatric disorders? The Standard American Diet (SAD) must change.

T. Gondi Toxoplasmosis

One of the better, more comprehensive articles I’ve seen about “The Overlooked Relationship Between Infectious Diseases and Mental Symptoms”:

Granted, Dr. Howenstine, the author, is marketing himself and his consulting services, but he’s amply provided procedures and meds which can be used by any willing doctor to evaluate whether or not bi-polar, ADD, depression, and a myriad of other mental issues may, in fact, be from a physical source:
