I Hate Sears

After 7 long months of trying to obtain my $529.99 appliance rebate from Sears Young America Rebate Center, I can see how my time would have been far more profitable had I suggested we not eat dinner out twice a month and ignored trying to select appliances which qualified for a supposed rebate. Seven months of trying to obtain a $529.99 rebate works out to $75.71 a month. Hardly worth the time I’ve lost over the months submitting and resubmitting the same claims over and over. Today was the straw that broke the camel’s back…

Drive-In Nightmare

What a dreadful night. This one takes a while to get going because I first need to set the stage, as it were…..

Since the adoption of Daniel into our family, 5 years ago, my husband and I haven’t been out to one, single solitary dinner together, without children. We also haven’t been out to a movie alone together. Then again, I’m “picky” about restaurants, and if we’re going to go through the hassle of a babysitter, the only good restaurants are over an hours drive away, “down” in Boston. As far as movies, “G” and “PG” are fine with me. But at the core of the issue is Daniel’s Autism. I’m simply not comfortable leaving him with babysitters – even with friends.

Children's Vinyl Lunch Boxes and Lead

Call me naive, but I would never have expected, in the year 2005, to find lead paint used on items handled by humans, no matter their age, but especially, not by children. Learning about this event gives me a sense I’m being given a tiny glimpse into what God sees going on every nano-second somewhere in this fallen world – a tiny peek into the perverted minds, hearts and souls of mankind. There’s no other way to explain why some children’s vinyl lunchboxes contain lead. Stupidity, oversights, slip-ups, and mistakes aren’t adequate nor acceptible in explaining this. Dishonesty, profit as god, cutting corners – those are good starts….

Popular Shampoos Contain Toxic Chemicals Linked To Nerve Damage

Researchers at the National Institutes of Health have found a correlation between an ingredient found in shampoos and nervous system damage. The experiments were conducted with the brain cells of rats and they show that contact with this ingredient called methylisothiazoline, or MIT, causes neurological damage.
Which products contain this chemical compound MIT? Head and Shoulders, Suave, Clairol and Pantene Hair Conditioner all contain this ingredient. Researchers are concerned that exposure to this chemical by pregnant women could put their fetus at risk for abnormal brain development.

Why Do Americans Have Such Poor Health?

A group of concerned physicians has filed a petition with the FDA to require pharmaceutical companies to place a package insert advising the buyer that statin drugs cause depletion of the critical nutrient CoQ 10 from the body. CoQ 10 deficiency appears to cause a rare patient on statins to experience muscle breakdown, lactic acidosis, kidney failure and death. The lack of CoQ 10 in heart muscle also probably is responsible for the rising incidence of heart failure in the U.S. This package insert would recommend that persons taking statins should take 100 to 200 mg. of CoQ 10 daily to prevent these problems. Obviously the drug companies oppose this package insert because it implies that statin drugs are not entirely safe, which is, of course, the truth.

Until Death Do We Part....

The internet is alive and buzzing with thousands of people voicing their opinions over Terri Shiavo. Fingers are busily typing about Important Issues which are seen as somehow having a role or connection to her “case”. States Rights. Euthanasia. Artificial Means of Continuing Life. Is America A Christian Nation. King George and His Position On Government Enforced Religion. Jefferson’s Intent and Participation in the Constitution. Individual Rights. Right To Life. Right To Death. Ad Nauseum.
